What is Ju Jitsu Fighting System?
The Ju Jitsu Fighting System is a dynamic, action-packed competition format that tests a martial artist’s versatility, skill, and strategy across all ranges of combat. Unlike single-discipline martial arts, the Fighting System combines striking, throwing, and ground fighting, making it one of the most complete and exciting forms of modern Ju Jitsu.
At Ju Jitsu Sports Academy (JSA), we train students to master each phase of combat, ensuring they become well-rounded martial artists with a strong foundation in self-defense and competition skills.
3 Phases of the Fighting System
✅ Phase 1: Striking (Atemi-Waza) 🥋🥊
The fight begins on the feet, where competitors use controlled punches, kicks, and open-hand strikes to score points while maintaining defensive awareness. This phase develops:
✔️ Speed & Reflexes – Reacting quickly to an opponent’s attack.
✔️ Precision & Control – Landing clean, effective strikes.
✔️ Footwork & Movement – Learning how to evade and counter effectively.
✅ Phase 2: Throwing (Nage-Waza) 🤼♂️
Once the striking phase is initiated, competitors look for opportunities to throw, sweep, or off-balance their opponents. This phase develops:
✔️ Takedown Techniques – Executing throws and sweeps with control.
✔️ Grip Fighting & Positioning – Setting up effective throws.
✔️ Balance & Core Strength – Preventing takedowns and countering attacks.
✅ Phase 3: Ground Fighting (Ne-Waza) 🛡️
After a successful throw, the fight continues on the ground, where competitors aim to secure dominant positions and apply submissions. This phase develops:
✔️ Positional Control & Escapes – Learning how to maintain control or get out of tough situations.
✔️ Submissions & Counters – Executing arm locks, chokes, and other techniques.
✔️ Endurance & Strategy – Managing energy and thinking ahead in grappling exchanges.
